Warszawskie upały - The heatwave in Warsaw
Wiosna w pełni. Nawet za bardzo, bo przydałby się deszcz - rośliny go łakną. Siedzieliśmy dziś pod ulubionym klonem i moją uwagę zwróciły jego młode liście: były wiotkie, wątłe, słabe. To musi być wina braku wody.

Spring is in full swing. Perhaps a bit too much, as we could do with some rain – the plants are craving it. We were sitting under our favourite maple tree today, and my attention was drawn to its young leaves: they were limp, frail and weak. It must be down to the lack of water.
Przejażdżka rowerem mnie zmęczyła, mimo że nie była bardzo długa. Mam wrażenie, że nasze preferencje co do temperatury bardzo się zmieniły po 60-ce. Pewnie to wynika z ogólnej wydolności organizmu. I oczywiście zdolności do regenerowania nadwątlonych sił. Mój nowy rower Dahon spisuje się dobrze. Nawet nie myślałam, że da radę jechać razem z takim o dużych kołach mojego męża, ale on radzi sobie świetnie. Dobry zakup.
English translation
The bike ride left me feeling tired, even though it wasn’t very long. I get the impression that our tolerance for heat has changed quite a bit since we turned 60. I suppose it’s down to our overall physical fitness. And, of course, our ability to recover our depleted energy. My new Dahon bike is doing the job well. I didn’t even think it would be able to keep up with my husband's bike with big wheels, but it’s coping brilliantly. A good buy.
